I had this idea that I should have fun with my music for a change. So this is what I came up with.

Every 100 days or so, I'll get together with a bunch of friends and cut a 45 single. An original, a cover, whatever. I'll assemble musicians who have never worked together, weird mixes of people, to do stuff outside their accustomed style.

Everybody will get a demo, but we won't all convene until the session (maybe not even then). The recording will be fast and cheap, one or two takes.

If it works, if it's magic, great. Call it "Time." If it's "Dirt," I'll release it anyway. Then I get a different group together and try something else.

I'll mail the music to the usual suspects — press, labels, radio — but only because they are vehicles to let more people know about Time Or Dirt. I'm not particularly interested in getting a "deal."

Do me a favor, after you listen to this record (and I hope you do), drop me a line, tell me what you think. I'd appreciate it.
